What is a Birth Doula?
The word doula comes from Ancient Greek and refers to a woman of service. The use of this word today more commonly means labor & birth support person. Birth doulas provide continuity of care by being present prenatally, during labor & birth and postpartum. Doulas support families birthing at home, hospitals & birth centers.

Birth is a sacred experience. It is a time of great transformation in mind, body and spirit. My intention is to ensure women are having satisfying, safe birth experiences. I believe in the mother's ability to know what is best for her and her baby, and I support her decisions. I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to the mother and, if present, her partner.

Please note, I do not perform medical tasks (such as vaginal exams, blood pressure, fetal heart checks, etc)
